Embarrassment at Walgreen's
I am stubborn! I am persistant! I am sometimes relentless! There! It's out there and I totally admit it! When I get an idea in my head there are times when I just can't let it go until I accomplish whatever it is that I want to do. About a week ago, I decided that Shea & I should take a picture with her bunny to send along with our Easter cards. We got Hunny after Easter last year so this was our first Easter with him. Last night, I take out the ol' 35mm camera (the good old days with negatives and all) and the tripod, we set it up and smile away with our little, sweet bunny! I got up early this morning so that I could take them into Walgreen's first thing. The clerk (Danny) was so nice and so helpful. I swear I seem so lame at times when it comes to the technology stuff. I even said out loud, "Geez- I'm acting like my mom" and he just laughed! I shopped for about 45 minutes and then the photos were done. They all came out pretty good, so instead of one pic, I decided to print 2 different ones. (I don't send 500 out like at Christmas- only about 40 or so) Danny wrote up my reprint order and told me that they would be ready at 2:00pm. Perfect...all set! I go to work, pick Shea up at 2:00pm and then we head to Walgreen's to get the reprints. When I got to the photo department, the guy (not Danny) could not find the reprints anywhere! I went over and told him that I had left them in the morning but they were not even in their system! Hmmmmm...thank goodness I did not lose my cool because just as I was about to go back and look for them myself, I realized I was at the wrong Walgreen's! I had gone to the one by my work this morning and this one was the one I always go to by my house! I was so embarrassed as I told the guy that I was at the wrong one! In my defense, all the stores are set up exactly the same so I just never thought twice about it! I got to the right store, picked my photos up, made Danny laugh when I told him what I did and went on my merry way! I don't think Danny will be asking me out any time soon! Well, our Easter cards went out in tonight's mail, photos inside and I'm going to sleep- a very happy girl I might add. I am learning that persistance is a really great attribute to have! As far as stubborn and relentless, who's perfect anyway?
If things go wrong, don't go with them.

Donuts
I am driving into work this morning when my cell phone rings...it's Cherie from work begging me to stop and get donuts. Min's in the background and I can hear her whining and begging as well. So I turn my car around and I head to the donut shop. I buy each of us an apple fritter and I buy a milk for me. Min had said to buy some as well for the shop so I carefully picked out my dozen. (2 chocolate twists, 2 glazed twists, 1 raised crumb, 2 glazed, 3 buttermilk bars, 1 chocolate french crueller, 1 vanilla french crueller) I have given Cherie such a hard time in the past because when she brings donuts in, she just tells the people that she wants a dozen and tells them to pick them out! Geez, that's like asking someone to pick out an ice cream for you or a puppy! Today when I walked in, I gave Cherie a "Donut 101" lesson and explained to her how important it is to pick out the "good" donuts or you end up with the gross ones that nobody ever eats! Last week, Rudy had told me that he and Roger had stopped at a donut shop. When I asked him what kind of donut he got, he told me a plain cake donut and a raisin croissant! My response was, "Yuck! Why even bother!" I rest my case!
The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.

xoxo
Last night as I was finishing my Easter cards, I had a little giggle when I remembered my stepdad, Steve. Steve and my mom were together for many years and I always considered him like a dad and a huge part of our family. He passed away about 6 years ago and I really miss him. Whenever I write out cards, I always sign my name and make a heart and then "4" xoxo's (hugs & kisses)- I have signed my cards that way for as long as I can remember. Every time (and I do mean every time) Steve would read a card from me he would always say, "Who's yoyo?" He always thought the xoxo looked like yoyo. Great memories are those that are brought up when you least expect it!
