I Love Being Loved!
The definition of HUMBLING is an adjective that says this: Adapted to abase pride and self-dependence. I am happy to say that as I am aging, I am also continuing to learn. I am learning that God blesses us with people who are there to "assist" us. It is a cool thing to be able to help each other. It was such a huge job when it came to packing all our California belongings, not to mention moving them all to another state! I have depended on so many of you and I am so grateful for having each of you. Shea brought me so much strength with her prayers when I was stressed. Knowing that so many of you had words of support and encouragement is still priceless to me. I have felt so much love and it is special and I never take it for granted.
LAUR & FLAMINGO: Well girlies...you have been a very special part of our lives for quite awhile now. You know that you always have a place to come and visit. I know we will all have many more good times and laughs no matter where we live! I love you both & so does Shea!
Shea & Hay...best friends forever!
DONNA BABY & MELINDA MY LOVE: You both have been 2 of my most treasured friends for as long as I can remember! With all that our lives have been through, our friendship had never wavered and we have always been there for each other. I'm so thankful that we got to spend so much time with both of you before we left. You both know the "real AD" and you love me anyway...how can I not love you? We know too many secrets about each other not to be friends forever! Pool pictures rule! "You used to be fun!" I love you both so very much! I love you Donna Baby & I love you Mel my love!
LIBBS: Thank you Libbs for helping me pack. I don't know what I would have done without you and I truly mean that. Only a best, true, loving friend would pack up Shea's extra (1000 or so) baby announcements without a word when I looked at you and said, "I just can't throw them away"-only a best, true, kind friend would come over when I cried on the phone and said, "I need help! I can't do this by myself!" Only a true, best, giving friend would have a dinner in our honor. Only a best, true, generous friend would have Shea & I sleep and shower at your house on our last couple of nights in CA. I love you so much Libbs!
PATTI WATTI: You are such a wonderful friend! You can always make me laugh...even when I'm crying! You always make me feel happy just by being around...even if you were just sorting newspaper and washing my dishes! lol Where the heck were you when I washed my 7 sets when I got to Oregon??? lol I don't know what I would do without im-ing you all day long! I can't wait for you & Libbs to come up here...you and the girls will love it! I love you so much chickie!
CHRIS: What Pastor do you know that actually comes to your house, gets his hands dirty, sweats while carrying boxes down to my moving truck and brings lots of guys to pack our truck? What Pastor do you know that says, "Don't worry-I got your back covered?" and actually means it? What Pastor...forget Pastor...what man do you know that does what he says and says what he does? Chris, you brought me such a sense of peace in an otherwise chaotic moving mess. A little bit of irony...of all the hundreds of boxes I packed...Chris had to see the one with my sick humor! I had packed my "spice rack", my "cookbook rack", so I wrote those two on the box but then I put "nice rack" as well! Serves me right! You continue to be a huge blessing to me as I listen to your sermons each week @ asyouarechurch.com I know you always tell us that God just uses you and speaks through you but dang, you are good! I love you so much Chris!
MIN & DENNIS: Who (but family) puts every item that we own in a truck...wait a second! in a truck and in your truck and drives 12 hours, unpacks both trucks when we get to Oregon, and then comes back and repairs things that got broken during the move? My "super-duo" that's who! I don't know how we did it all! Min- Dennis scares me with his energy! Are you sure he is not a superhero? Well, you both are my heroes! Min, thanks for all your decision making in my last weeks...Thanks for sorting things out in my mind for me...I could not do it on my own! I love you so much Min & Red!
LISA: There is a reason why you and I have been friends for over 40 years now...the reason escapes me right this minute...because you drive me crazy all the time! Only you could find us a place to live up here in Oregon without us even seeing it first. Only you could have a plan...all the time...even though your plans drive me crazy! You are my life long best friend, regardless that we almost killed each other on moving day! You need to mellow out and calm down already! You are way too uptight! I'm going to keep trying to make you spontaneous. It's exciting and invigorating. You have always been a part of me and I a part of you. We're stuck with each other, no matter what! Thank you for my mountain and my wildflowers! And NO! it's not a hill and tell Timy they are not weeds! I love you more than words can say my Lisa!
TWINKIE: God knew that even when I said that "my practice was closed" way back in Kindergarten...that you would become someone in my life that I would never want to be without. He knew that you would be there for me in the best and worst of times. He knew that I would need your honesty, your bluntness, your humor, your family, your love, your shoulder to cry on, your wit, your sarcasm, your ideas (powder/liquid Tide is all I will say), your stubborness, your pushiness, your encouragement, your wisdom, and most of all He knew that I would learn to love you...even with a closed practice...He knew that you would become one of the most important people in my life...and you are! I know that geography is hard for you being apart...but you are in my heart and that won't ever change. You know how I have a tough time letting go of anything! Thank you for stopping by to see our new home in Oregon...we are family and I will always be your Ding Dong! I love you so much Amy!
I can't say thank you...that doesn't even come close to what my heart feels. Thank you??? Thanks mean nothing at this point...I love you means something. I love each of you so very much! xoxoxo
Most of you know that Luther Vandross is my all time favorite singer...he will be until the end of time. One of my favorite songs is "There's Nothing Better Than Love" (a duet with the late, amazing Gregory Hines) and it has a line that says, "I want to be loved" "listen to love and always get love to lead the way" and I feel so loved and I love it!
