Subtle Versus Settle

Once again, my Sweetiepuss, Shea Elisa, had me in hysterics last night! We were coming up the elevator and I mentioned that we had nail appointments today. The day before she had told me that she was doing "hot pink" because she has had a french tip for the past two weeks and wanted something different. Last night she tells me that she changed her mind and is going to do a lighter pink like what I usually pick out...something more "settle." I corrected her and said, "you mean subtle." She insisted she meant "settle!" I started to explain the difference (verb vs adjective) and stopped myself to listen to her explanation. She went on to tell me that when her and Hayley are getting too wild, I always say to "settle down" and it means to mellow or calm down. She wanted to get a more "settle" color of nail polish! It took me awhile to stop giggling- how stinkin' cute is that? The look on her face was priceless when I told her how to actually spell "subtle." It all brought back memories of when we went to dinner at Claim Jumper. After the waitress left to put in our order, Shea looked at me with a strange look and said, "Did she just say baked potato?" I said, "Yes, why did you want mashed?" She replied, "I always though it was BIG potato!" None of us will ever know it all, huh?
